My name is Rosemary, and for about four months in the wintertime I was homeless.  It was awful.  My life was a nightmare.

I had just gotten out of prison, and had asked myself, ‘What am I going to do?  I have no place to go.’ So I prayed that someone would take me in - and I came to City Gospel Mission. It was like God had lifted a big burden off my shoulders.At first it was kind of strange.  I kept wondering, ‘Why are these people being so nice?  Why do they even care?’ But that’s because this Mission is just great. The staff is here for you anytime, no matter what.  They have helped me with everything.  They just lift you up and make you feel very special.  I feel very loved here.  I’ve never had that before.  I’ve never felt close to anyone before.  But the staff here, they listen to you.

And now I know God listens to me, too.  He is someone that I have a personal relationship with, and I tell Him everything.  I’ve just opened my heart to Him, and told Him I will never doubt Him again. I pray every day. and I read my Bible.  Now I just don’t worry any more, because I know He will take care of me.   I am thankful to Him, and to the Mission for all of their help.
