Mentors Change LivesCity Gospel Mission cares about Greater Cincinnati's children and their futures. We offer a wide variety of programs for youth but most importantly, we help establish significant one-to-one relationships between youth and caring adult mentors. Mentoring helps because it guarantees a young person that there is someone who cares about them. And research confirms what we already knew anecdotally or intuitively — that mentoring works. Mentored youth are*: Mentored youth are also more likely to have greater self-esteem, have confidence in their schoolwork, get along better with their friends and families, and attend college*. Being a MentorA City Gospel Mission mentor is a caring adult friend who devotes time to a young person. Our mentors provide young people with knowledge, encouragement and experiences that will help them make good choices. CGM supports our mentors with ongoing training and resources. We also ensure the safety of all children with thorough background checks and screenings of all mentors. Take ActionWe need committed and caring women and men to volunteer with at-risk children. Becoming a mentor is a serious commitment that will change the life of a child. It will change your life too. If you're interested in becoming a mentor, please complete an application below. Contact us at youthmentoring@citygospelmission.org if you have any questions. Do we want to put these applications here or just link to the volunteering page? Should we mention qualifications to become a mentor somewhere on this page?
