J.O.E.
(Jesus on Elm) Spring Carnival (May) and J.O.E. Festival (July)
Over-The-Rhine
is a neighborhood besieged by poverty, unemployment, crime, and
violence. Many residents are in need . . . some need food, some
need clothing, many need a place to sleep other than on the streets
or under bridges. Some residents simply need to experience something
good and positive happening in their midst.
City Gospel
Mission's Annual J.O.E. (Jesus On Elm) Spring Carnival and J.O.E.
Festival help provide a welcome respite from the struggles and hardships
many of the Mission's neighbors face on a daily basis. This day
of free musical and dramatic entertainment, games, food, and fun
brings a lively afternoon of party and worship to one of Cincinnati's
neediest neighborhoods.
This
event always provides a much-needed positive impact on the neighborhood
and the people who live there. The J.O.E. Spring Carnival and J.O.E.
Festival also help introduce the homeless and others in need to
the many opportunities for physical help and spiritual renewal available
at the Mission.
